A Notice From the Lily Dale Board of Directors Regarding COVID-19
The Lily Dale Board of Directors wishes you safety and good health. COVID-19 is an unexpected difficult challenging position for our community. We the Assembly remain steadfastly committed to our mission: To further the understanding of the science, philosophy and religion of Spiritualism. To promote activities and discussions concerning modern benevolent, charitable, literary, scientific and civic thought. Further the mission asks that we as Spiritualists promote a greater understanding of all mankind.
Our proposed 2020 summer workshops have the potential to be the best ever. The program committee worked hard to bring many topics to further our mission including classes on Personal Transformation, Mediumship, Arts and Science, Healing and Wellness, the Natural World, Divination and Religion and Ritual to name a few. It is a program rich in diversity.
Instead of a printed catalogue, a downloadable PDF version will soon be made available on our new website. The Board is working towards offering some of our workshops on line. If it becomes necessary, we are looking into how to become a total virtual classroom. All the workshop presenters are being contacted to determine if their workshop can be adapted to an online version. This website is also being updated as program information becomes available.
The Lily Dale Board of Directors are planning different scenarios of responses to the COVID-19. Of course, our priority is the health and safety of our staff, summer visitors, residents and volunteers.
Even amidst this uncertainty, The Board, on behalf of the community is planning our opening day as Friday June 26 with the raising of the flag at 12 noon to begin the one hundred and forty-first season of Lily Dale. We raise the flag as a sign of courage and our commitment to the principals of Spiritualism. Our angels, spirit guides, teachers and our loved ones are with each and every one of us and they do not have to practice social distancing!
It is not known how our community of Lily Dale will look in June. Will it be a true flag raising or will we all be watching on-line? We can’t answer right now any questions in detail except to be prepared for a charming season going forth as planned and or a modified season of virtual workshops.
Let us as a community be filled with the courage, patience and kindness to go forth and deal with whatever will be the ultimate reality of the summer of 2020-one to never forget!
