About the Event
Session Description: Deep Listening® is a set of practices developed by celebrated experimental musician, composer, philosopher and humanitarian Pauline Oliveros, in collaboration with dream specialist IONE and movement practitioner Heloise Gold. The practice of Deep Listening prepares the whole body and mind to listen in every way possible, leading to greater awareness. The philosophy of Deep Listening and the modalities that support it -- Listening/Sounding, Moving and Dreaming -- are gentle and open-ended. Benefits can include stress release as well as an increase in empathy, communication abilities and healing. No musical training is needed to participate -- only an open mind. The workshop will foster a space of learning, safety and trust, and will consist of breathing exercises, guided meditation, discussion, tai chi based movement, listening exercises, sounding exercises, and lots of time for exploration, journaling and discussion.
