Red Light Trance Seance

The materialization or elongation of body parts has significance throughout Spiritualist history. Initially, it was the Italian medium Eusapia Palladino’s mysterious séance limbs that inspired Nobel Laureate Charles Richet to coin the term ‘ectoplasm’ in the 1890’s. Today, medium Gordon Garforth carries on this tradition by sitting for both transfiguration and elongation.

In this experimental evening, Gordon and Gaynor Garforth will lead a séance with the intention of having friends and loved ones transfigure over Gordon while he is in trance. Should a sitter recognize someone, they will be invited to sit next to the medium and communicate with the spirit present. The Garforth’s spirit team also work using ectoplasm to elongate Gordon’s body, and a demonstration of elongation will be part of the intention for the evening. During the séance, there will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the Garforth’s spirit team. All aspects of this evening will happen under bright red light, and everything in the room will be easy to see.

Every sitting is unique, and the Garforths cannot guarantee that phenomena will happen. Their spirit friends will be in control, and they will work with the energies that the participants bring with them. Sitters of all levels of development are welcome, and everyone is encouraged to arrive with an open mind.

Bio Gordon and Gaynor Garforth are married mediums from England who both come from Spiritualist backgrounds. Gaynor’s father was a transfiguration medium, and Gordon attended Spiritualist church services with his mother as a child. At age five, Gordon sat in a séance conducted by Estelle Roberts, the renowned British medium known for drawing huge crowds at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London. At Robert’s séance, her famous spirit guide Red Cloud spoke directly to Gordon about his mediumship, stating: “One day, you will do what my medium is doing.” In 1995, the Garforth’s began sitting for physical mediumship development. Their circle now sits for transfiguration and healing, with Gordon acting as medium and Gaynor serving as the circle leader.
