Sacred Spaces with John and Marie Pettingill

Session Description: Natural sacred spaces include forest groves and mountains.  Human made sacred spaces include temples and burial grounds.  This 3 hour workshop shows how to approach and fully experience both types of sacred space.   Sacred space plays an important role in celebration, transformation, marking changes in time, memorializing loss, and communing with the dead. Sacred space amplifies our emotions through evoking beauty, humility, memory, wonder, and awe.  It can amplify spirituality through creating a sense of connection to loved ones, the earth and to the divine. Natural spaces with great power include rivers, springs, river confluence, and caves.  Human-made spaces with great power include kivas, domes, pyramids, mandalas, and labyrinths.

Presenter Bio: Marie Dagit Pettingill is a leadership coach.  John Dagit Pettingill works for the Minnesota Historical Society.  Both John and Marie teach classes in spiritual growth such as divine feminine and masculine spirituality, interpretation of sacred texts, and sacred landscapes.  Curriculum outlines and slides are available upon request.
