About the Event

The Sacred Tree stands at the center of our world. The tree both provides for our physical existence and guides us on a spiritual path so we can awaken to the universal dream. We celebrate the Sacred Tree through a ceremony of gratitude that includes a Medicine Wheel dance and prayers for All Our Relations. The story of the Sacred Tree will be presented and Medicine Wheel teachings explained. Participants will share in a short honoring ceremony where we dedicate our dance to the healing of the planet. This is a participant led dance consisting of five rounds of dancing and four rounds of meditation. The dance leaders and drummers will change with each round.

Please dress comfortably. Bring a rattle or drum, and any other things that you would like to use as we share in this celebration dance, such as colorful scarves or face paint. This is a fun dance, please feel free to express yourself.

Please note- if you are physically unable to dance with us, you can still participate. We always appreciate rhythm keepers on the sidelines. Everyone's energy is an important part of the dance.

Spider is a ceremony leader (Beike) with the Caney Indian spiritual circle, medicine wheel teacher, herbalist, and founder of Vortex Energy Bodywork. She is the author of Vortex Energy, Grandmother Spider and the Web of Life, Songs of Bleeding, All Our Relations Medicine Wheel for Children, and Grandmothers of the Four Winds. Spider does Taino glyph and medicine wheel readings, vortex energy sessions, and full moon ceremonies at her home in Fredonia.
