Spiritual Grief Work with John and Marie Pettingill

Session Description: There are many gateways to grief: the loss of loved ones, changes in our life’s assumptions, and changes in our expectations.  After a major loss we may feel that we can never be whole again. The pain may not grow smaller, but we can grow spiritually larger.  Learn how grief-work opens us to guidance from spirit, compassion to others, and a greater connection to life.   This workshop covers the following aspects of grief: its language, its dynamics, how other cultures practice grief-work, how to prepare for transition, burial and mourning rites, memorializing those we have lost, and communing with the deceased.   We will also cover methods of self-care and how to show up for others. Come prepared to participate in grief rituals, story-telling, and guided meditations.
