About the Event

Walk Ins are welcome based on building capacity once pre-sale registration has closed.

Author Mason Winfield has devoted himself to a hard-minded study of the paranormal. This wry, lighthearted “Top Ten,” give or take a few, is his overview of the hottest paranormal topics of our day.

From a perspective of neither heartfelt advocacy nor stony refutation, this presentation does its best to give us lowest common denominator assessments of what we seem to know about UFOs, ancient mysteries, crop circles, giant skeletons, cryptids, vortexes, ley lines, “witch lights,” religious miracles, ghosts and psychic phenomena, earth-energies, and others.

The truth may be out there, but would you know it if you saw it? You can get a head start with Mason Winfield’s Top Ten, an objective survey of highly subjective subjects that we lump into the broad category we call paranormal. Get ready for Mason’s signature mix; a visual presentation with storytelling, speculative development, a lively Q-and-A, and even music. And remember to bring your out-of-the-box thinking cap.

Author, researcher, storyteller, and supernatural historian, Mason Winfield studied English and Classics at Denison University, earned a master’s degree in British Literature at Boston College, and studied poetry and fiction at SUNY Buffalo with internationally recognized poet and MacArthur grant recipient Irving Feldman. He has written or edited fourteen books, including the regional sensation Shadows of the Western Door (1997), Iroquois Supernatural (2011), and the occult adventure-romance The Whistlers, Books 1 & 2 (2017 & 2019). A storyteller who has spoken at many national festivals – including the Rochester (NY) Fringe and  the Charleston (SC) Piccolo Spoleto – Mason is the founder of Haunted History Ghost Walks, Inc., a company that designs and develops various forms of supernaturally-themed tourism.
