Writing Through Your Fears
Sometimes our fears can hold us back from reaching our full potential. But fear can also be our friend, teach us which voices to listen to, show us which ways not to go, and even teach us something about ourselves. Come learn with Dr. Gerard Collins!

About the Event
Walk Ins are welcome based on building capacity once pre-sale registration has closed.
Sometimes our fears can hold us back from reaching our full potential. But fear can also be our friend, teach us which voices to listen to, show us which ways not to go, and even teach us something about ourselves. Ultimately, if fear is to be useful, we must figure out how to get through it, and in this workshop you’ll learn how to use creative writing as a means to put fear into perspective.
Dr. Gerard Collins has a PhD in American Gothic Literature from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is the author of The Hush Sisters, which won a Next Generation Indie Book Award. His novel Finton Moon was nominated for a Dublin Literary Award. Gerard has taught workshops at Newcastle University, UK, at Lily Dale, and a writing Masterclass offered through the Frye Festival. Gerard will be a featured author and workshop provider at the 2022 Louisiana Book Festival and an upcoming guest speaker at University of New Brunswick on the topic: “What Literature Can Teach us in the Post-Pandemic World.”
