Points of Interest The Fox Cottage The Fox Cottage, birthplace of Modern Spiritualism, was relocated to Lily Dale as a memorial to the Fox Sisters. Established in 1900 after horses fell through the ice on Cassadaga Lake, the site became a sacred resting place for cherished pets, including Topsy, a beloved worker and companion in Lily Dale. Inspiration Stump Located at the end of the peaceful Leolyn Woods trail, Inspiration Stump is a quiet sanctuary where many feel a heightened connection to spirit. Free mediumship demonstrations are held here twice daily, a tradition dating back to 1898. Mediums offer short messages to those gathered, continuing a long-standing spiritual practice. The Stump itself is a historic tree remnant, believed to sit within a vortex of spiritual energy, and has been a place for practicing and demonstrating mediumship for over a century. Lillie Memorial Fountain Located in Melrose Park near the main entrance, this bronze fountain features a graceful female figure holding a bowl overhead. It honors the contributions of Mrs. R. Sheppard Lillie and John T. Lillie to Spiritualism, and was gifted to the Assembly by Oscar Erzkus and the Sheppard Lillie Church of Buffalo, NY. butterfly garden Located across from The Lily dale gift shop, this garden space was created in 2017 by the Lily Dale Environmental Committee with community support. It provides food, water, shelter, and safe spaces for butterflies, birds, frogs, and other wildlife to thrive. Children's Acre Playground Located next to the Andrew Jackson Davis Lyceum, the Children's Acre Playground features slides, swings, see-saws and more! The Dog Park A newer addition to Lily Dale, the dog park is open to vaccinated dogs with proof provided at the office. Donations to help maintain the park are encouraged.

As the world's largest and oldest Spiritualist community, we have over 140 years of history we'd love to share with you. Visit our museum and library when you come to Lily Dale. The Fox Cottage The Fox Cottage, the birthplace of Modern Spiritualism was purchased by Mr. B.F. Bartlett and moved to Lily Dale as a matter of preservation and a memorial to Spiritualism and the Fox Sisters. The Cottage was taken apart and shipped across Lake Ontario to Buffalo then trucked to Lily Dale where it was reassembled. Tragically, the cottage burned to the ground in 1955. The ground it sat on in Lily Dale has been turned into a memorial and mediation garden open year round for all visitors. You can find this peaceful place behind the Forest Temple on East Street.
