Dreams and Visions of the Dying

Dr. Christopher Kerr will discuss ground-breaking research on dreams of the dying conducted by him and the Hospice Buffalo research team. This talk highlights more than 1,500 documented cases, and draws on the rich narratives and subjective experiences of the dying patients. Although medically ignored, these universal experiences often provide comfort, meaning, and insight. This research was the subject of his TEDx Buffalo Talk which has generated enormous response, both nationally and internationally, with coverage including the New York Times, Huffington Post, The Atlantic, BBC, Scientific American, and Psychology Today, to name a few.  

Bio: Christopher Kerr, MD, PhD, is the CEO and Chief Medical for The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care (Hospice Buffalo). Chris earned his MD and PhD in Neurobiology. His motivation is patient advocacy. Dr. Kerr has overseen the integration and expansion of palliative care into local hospitals, and developed one of the nation’s largest home-based palliative care programs, Home Connections. He has lectured and published on innovative program models that are designed to better serve patient/family needs. Dr. Kerr is the author of Death is But a Dream.
