About the Event
Session description:
Sound meditation is a healing experience that incorporates crystal bowls, rattles, chimes and Tibetan bowls with recorded high vibrational music and live guidance to bring you an elevated vibratory experience. The basic premise behind sound healing, practiced since ancient times, is that everything is in a state of vibration. By being exposed to a high vibration experience, you can raise your personal vibration, deepen your meditation practice and increase your wellbeing. Benefits include reduced muscle tension and anxiety, increased intuition, improved mental clarity and wellbeing.
Presenter Bio:
A meditation circle devotee since the 1990’s, Andrea conducts sound healing meditations that help promote healing and personal transformation.
Award winning entrepreneur, author, lecturer and recipient of a McGill Dobson Fellow, Andrea graduated from McGill, B Comm 1982 and from the University of Victoria in 2018 with an M Ed. In 1997, Andrea founded Grandma Emily’s Granola (GEG). GEG manufactured homemade style granola cereals for the food service industry. The product line grew to include organic bars, snacks and gift amenities. A single mother with three children and no child support, her business plan was one line: ‘don’t give up’.
In 2015, Andrea sold the company and imagined deliciously lazy days ahead filled with nothing but time. But a larger role awaited. That of mother and caregiver to her daughter Chloe who fell ill. Mother, daughter and son lived a difficult and blessed year together. Chloe passed away in February 2016. She was 28.
Andrea’s first book, Conversations with Chloe, is a five-month long mother and daughter dialogue that began after Chloe’s death. Andrea’s second book, Magical Thinking, explores evidence of life after life from the perspective of bereaved parents. Her play, 30 Days, is historical fictional, a whimsical account of Socrates’s last 30 days of his life. It explores themes of purpose, life mission, ethical living and what lies beyond the veil.
In addition to mentoring young entrepreneurs, Andrea facilitates Sound sessions in the workplace and in wellness and fitness centres, helping people experience the lasting, beneficial effects of Sound.
