About the Event

The Six Iroquois Longhouse nations of upstate New York have spiritual insight and site-traditions as worthy as anything

associated with Taos or Mt. Shasta. Ghosts, curses, healings, prophecies, visions, legends, the little people, it’s all here when we learn to see it.  In his signature mix of storytelling, visual presentations, and interior development, author-researcher Mason Winfield gives us an overview of the supernatural, mystical, and spiritual traditions of the Iroquois/Longhouse Nations from two dynamically different perspectives: what is known to history and anthropology, and what is kept within the oral tradition of the Longhouse peoples themselves.

Bio: Mason Winfield, author, researcher, storyteller, and “supernatural historian”, studied English and classics at Denison University, earned a master’s degree in British literature at Boston College, and studied poetry and fiction with Irving Feldman at SUNY Buffalo. His latest books, include the regional sensation Shadows of the Western Door, Supernatural, and the occult adventure-romance The Whistlers, Books 1 & 2. He has appeared on NBC’s Today Show and Travel Channel programs Legend Hunters, Mysteries at the Museum, and Hometown Horrors.
